Welcome to the project microsite for Restoring Nature, Empowering Communities, an initiative of Alternare A.C.'s Bosques Somos program.

Gracias a tu generosa donación, fue posible alcanzar la meta de restaurar y conservar más de 3,500 hectáreas de ecosistemas forestales en la Reserva de la Biosfera Mariposa Monarca, México. Como parte de este esfuerzo, se fortalecieron 10 viveros forestales escolares y comunitarios, donde se produjeron más de 10,000 árboles de especies nativas a partir de semillas recolectadas de los mejores individuos, contribuyendo a la conservación de la diversidad genética y a la recuperación de los bosques.

The project directly benefited 1,300 community members from the Indigenous communities of Carpinteros, Crescencio Morales, Donaciano Ojeda, and San Cristóbal, who participated in ecological restoration activities, the revegetation of degraded areas, seed collection, soil stabilization, sustainable land management, and the restoration of streams and micro-watersheds. These efforts strengthened biodiversity, improved watershed function and water regulation, and enhanced the resilience of both local ecosystems and communities to the impacts of climate change.

This microsite provides an overview of the key results achieved through the implementation of the Community Operational Plans between July 2025 and July 2026. Through photos, performance indicators, and supporting documentation, you can follow the project's progress and see the impact of your support.

Your support made it possible to protect forests, conserve freshwater springs, and strengthen the watershed recharge areas that are essential to the long-term health of this region.
